I really enjoyed reading A December
Bride by Denise
Hunter. This book is about the sister to the hero in Barefoot Summer. I love to read books about brides and this book
is one of the books in the Year of Brides series.
Layla O’Reilly is trying to trying to get her home staging business off
the ground and working at a local pizzeria as a waitress to make ends meet, but
she has a big problem – she needs a date for a wedding after her date cancels
on her five hours before the wedding because he’s sick. This isn’t just any
wedding she needs a date for. It is the wedding of her ex-fiancé, Jack, and her
cousin, Jessica. Desperate to have a
date for the wedding, she accepts the offer of Seth Murphy, her ex-fiancĂ©’s
best friend, who understands exactly what is at stake, as he unwittingly threw
Jessica and Jack together. At the reception, Seth announces that he and Layla
are engaged, when Jessica starts making nasty comments about Layla. Layla is
outraged, but allows the charade to continue when it seems that she will gain
the business of a real estate agent because she is associated with Seth. Seth
has had feelings for Layla for a long time, but Jack had moved into a
relationship with Layla before he was able to say anything to her, and feels
like this is a chance to help her see how he feels. Will Seth be able to get
Layla to see how he feels and change her feeling toward him by the time she is
done staging his house for the Silent Night Christmas Home Tour or will Layla
call off the sham engagement before he has a chance to prove himself?
