Mini Family Reunion

This weekend several of the Miller family got together for a mini family reuinion. Only Uncle Paul and Uncle Philip were not able to come.

Back to School - Again

Well, it was back to school again today. We got a phone call from our school district about 9:30 pm on Thursday, telling us that school was cancelled on Friday due to flooding in some areas of the county. Grace had called the school district's emergency hotline less than an hour before to see if school was cancelled since the county's around us had cancelled and we were still scheduled to have school at that point. We had lots of rain and wind on Thursday and on Friday we had alternating times of heavy rain and wind and hours of overcast skies with the sun trying to peek through. By Saturday morning when Dad and I went out to Andy's house on the Turnpike, the road was dry for the most part with a few places where the shoulder was damp.

Back to School

Well, we've been back to school for two days since having a day off for Fay. The weather the past two days has been worse than the day we had off. Oh Well!!! We did not end up going out to Andy's to help get things cleaned up. Their next door neighbor has two teenage boys and they helped Hannah get things cleaned up, plus Andy took off work early too. We had a big happy family at our house Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday. Right now different areas of the state are under flash flood warnings and Fay is slowly moving back across the state above where we are. I must say we are getting our much needed rain to help alleviate some of the drought.

Back to School --- For 1 day!

Today it was back to work and school.....but now Tropical Storm/Hurricane Fay is giving us an extra day off - maybe two days off. We get to make up the day in October. So -- tonight we will be going out to Andy's to help him get stuff "Storm Safe" at their place and then they will probably come spend time at our house since it looks like the storm will be coming right by them. It has already started raining here. Lord willing, by the time hits land and gets near either of our homes it will just be rain and slight winds instead of strong winds.

Sad Goodbye

Our good friends, Jonathan and Karen, and their family are moving to Kentucky this week. We will definitely miss them. Five of their 8 1/2 kids (#9 is due in the next few weeks) spent Saturday night with us and went to church with us on Sunday morning. Jonathan came down for lunch and then took the kids back home. We hope to see them again on Thursday evening to help them load thier moving truck.
